Welcome to The Daily Quote – a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I’m your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 22nd.

Now, did you know that today is National Onion Ring Day? The humble onion ring gets its own day! YES, there is hope for humanity.

Whether you like them battered, breaded, or gluten-free, today is the perfect excuse to indulge in this crispy delight. And let’s be honest, even if you’re not a fan, it’s hard to resist the allure of a perfectly fried onion ring.

On to today’s quote, which comes from none other than the legendary actress Audrey Hepburn:

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”

This quote speaks to the heart of hope and faith in the future, much like the joy that planting a garden brings.

Now, you might be wondering, Andrew…. what do onion rings and gardens have in common?

Well… if nobody planted a garden… there would be no onion rings. To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrows tasty Onion Rings!!!

Also, both require a little bit of patience and care. You can’t rush a garden any more than you can rush a perfect onion ring.

Both involve layers, whether it’s the literal layers of an onion or the layers of effort and time you put into cultivating a garden or frying that perfect batch.

Audrey Hepburn’s quote encourages you to invest in the future, to believe that what you nurture today will bloom tomorrow.

I’m reading Maximum Achievement right now… and Paul Tracey mentions this concept a lot in the book… the Law of Sowing and Reaping. What you sow today you reap tomorrow.

Similarly, think about how you might feel when you bite into a perfectly cooked onion ring – that satisfaction comes from knowing that someone took the time to make it just right. It’s a small reminder that good things come to those who wait.

So, today, as you savor an onion ring or two, take a moment to reflect on the small acts of patience and hope you can cultivate in your own life. Maybe it’s tending to a garden, planning for a future project, or simply enjoying the process of cooking something delicious. Remember, each small step you take is a testament to your belief in a brighter tomorrow.

That’s all for today’s episode of The Daily Quote. Thank you for joining me, and I hope your day is filled with positivity and maybe even a few delicious onion rings. Until next time, this is Andrew McGivern signing off. Have a wonderful day! And I’ll be back with another daily quote… tomorrow.

If you plant your finger on the follow button today, you will reap a new quote tomorrow… It is a universal law afterall.
