The Great News Letter

Hello and welcome to February 15th! You’re listening to The Daily Quote – the show you use to kickstart your day in a positive way. It’s rad to have you here as we uncover today’s dose of inspiration. Each day brings new opportunities for reflection, learning, and growth, and I’m grateful to share this journey with you. Thank you for joining me.

Today, we’re celebrating National Gumdrop Day, a day to enjoy the sweet, chewy treats known as gumdrops. Often bright, colorful, and varied in flavor, gumdrops remind us of childhood joy and the simple pleasure of a sweet treat. It’s a day to indulge a little and to appreciate the smaller delights in life.

In the spirit of sweetness and joyful moments, let’s reflect on today’s quote from the renowned author, Charles Dickens:

“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has many—not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.”

Dickens’ wise words remind us to focus on the positives in our lives and to be thankful for the blessings we often take for granted. Just as we enjoy the variety of gumdrops, we can savor the variety of good things in our lives, from the smallest pleasures to the most significant relationships and achievements.

On February 15th, as we savor the colorful and sweet gumdrops of National Gumdrop Day and ponder the insights of Charles Dickens, let’s take a moment to reflect on our present blessings. What are you grateful for today? How can you cultivate an attitude of gratitude in your daily life?

One way to do this is to write a daily gratitude journal. I use Notion for my journal and habit tracker. It is a tool that can be customized to whatever you want it to be. Whatever tool you use whether it is software or pen and paper writing down what you are grateful for cultivates a winning attitude and makes it harder to feel bad about life.

As we wrap up today’s episode, I hope Charles Dickens’ words inspire you to cherish and celebrate your many blessings. Thank you for spending part of your February 15th with me. Remember, every day is an opportunity to recognize the good around us and to fill our lives with gratitude and joy.
