Today is March 23rd, and welcome to The Daily Quote – a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I’m your host, Andrew McGivern, and I’m thrilled you’re here with me today, especially since it’s National Puppy Day. Yes, it’s the day we celebrate the little creatures who steal our shoes, destroy our furniture, but most importantly, capture our hearts.

National Puppy Day is not just about celebrating these furry bundles of joy; it’s about acknowledging the laughter and happiness they bring into our lives, often in the form of chewed-up socks and surprise puddles on the floor. They say every dog has its day, and today, it’s every puppy’s turn to shine, or rather, to wag their tails with extra enthusiasm.

Up next a quote from Roger Caras:

Roger Caras was an American wildlife photographer, writer, and television personality known for his deep love of animals, especially dogs. Born in 1928, he authored over 70 books on pets and wildlife, contributing significantly to animal literature. Caras was renowned for his advocacy for animal welfare and spent a significant part of his career raising awareness about the importance of treating animals with respect and kindness. His passion for animals led him to serve as the president of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Caras’ dedication to animals and his ability to communicate their importance in our lives made him a beloved figure among animal enthusiasts, and his legacy continues to influence the world of animal welfare and conservation.

Roger Caras once said…

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”

This quote speaks volumes, especially today. Puppies may just be a part of our world, but they fill it with joy, laughter, and sometimes an inexplicable amount of fur. They remind us that life doesn’t need to be perfect to be wonderful; it just needs a little bit of unconditional love and a few tail wags.

In the spirit of National Puppy Day, let’s remember the small, joyful moments that puppies bring into our lives. Like when they tilt their heads curiously, trying to understand us, or when they run in their sleep, dreaming of chasing squirrels. It’s these little things, much like puppies themselves, that often bring the biggest smiles.

So today, let’s channel our inner puppy. Let’s be curious, find joy in the little things, and maybe even take an extra nap or two. After all, if puppies have taught us anything, it’s that sometimes the best approach to life is to simply roll over and enjoy the belly rubs.

My little puppy is already two years old… she is a rescue dog from Texas and has grown into a beautiful, friendly and loyal friend.

Happy National Puppy Day!

Thank you for joining me on this paw-some episode of The Daily Quote. May your day be filled with puppy-like wonder and joy, and may you find the perfect stick to chew or ball to chase. Catch you tomorrow for another dose of daily inspiration, with hopefully fewer chewed slippers.
