Today is April 28th and welcome to The Daily Quote—a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I’m your host, Andrew McGivern, and today Im recording this from my car! More on that later…

Today marks National Superhero Day, a day when we celebrate everyone’s favorite caped crusaders and the extraordinary feats they perform. But it’s not just about those comic book heroes; it’s a nod to the everyday heroes in our lives too, those who might not wear capes but are superheroes in their own right.

Now, onto our quote of the day, which comes from none other than the late great Stan Lee, a real-life superhero in the world of comics: “With great power, comes great responsibility.” This quote is famous for being associated with one of the most beloved superheroes, Spider-Man. It’s a line that has echoed through the halls of comic book lore and found a special place in the heart of many.

This quote resonates deeply on National Superhero Day because it captures the essence of what it means to be a superhero – and, more broadly, a good human being. Whether you’re a firefighter, a teacher, or a neighbor lending a hand, wielding your power—no matter how big or small—with responsibility is what sets the real heroes apart from the fictional ones.

As you go about your day today, think about the powers you possess, whether it’s the ability to make someone laugh when they’re feeling down, or the knack for solving complex problems at work. How will you use these powers? Remember, every small act of kindness or courage is a piece of your superhero cape.

And speaking of real life superheroes, I saw a post from Cliff Ravenscraft, the Mindset Answerman (formerly the podcast answerman) talking about his new in car podcast recording setup. It sounds awesome. And so I wanted to give it a try.

Normally, I record this show in my home studio in my secret underground layer AKA my crawlspace.

And I use a Heil PR40 Microphone going into the Vocaster Two which is an audio interface. An audio interface is just a interface between a computer and a microphone, essentially. You need a computer with an audio interface. But I also have a Zoom Podtrak P4 which is also an audio interface but is a digital recorder too! And I’m recording into that right now and we will see how it sounds.

I wonder if you can here the rain… I’m in the parking lot of my sons soccer game.

Thank you for tuning in to The Daily Quote. Let’s make today heroic in the little things, and remember—someone out there thinks of you as their superhero. Until tomorrow, take care and harness your powers for good.
