Today’s quote comes from Kevin Sinnott:
“Coffee is a warm drink that fosters friendship and tastes great. What more is there to life?”
Kevin Sinnott is an American coffee expert and author, best known for his work helping people better understand, appreciate and enjoy coffee.
And while this quote is obviously about coffee, I think there's something much bigger hiding inside it.
Because coffee isn't really just about coffee.
It's about what happens around the coffee.
It's the conversation you have with a friend.
It's catching up with someone you haven't seen in months.
It's sitting across the table from someone you love.
It's the coffee you share with a colleague before starting the workday.
Or maybe it's that quiet cup you enjoy by yourself while you listen to something that makes you think.
Coffee has this remarkable ability to create a little space for connection.
And I think that's what makes this quote particularly relevant to the Daily Quote.
Because every morning, I get to share a few minutes with people I may never actually meet.
You might be listening while you're drinking your morning coffee.
Maybe you're driving to work.
Walking the dog.
Making breakfast.
Or simply taking a few minutes for yourself.
And although we're separated by a screen, a speaker or a pair of headphones, there's still a little connection happening.
I'm sharing an idea with you.
And you're giving me a few minutes of your day.
That's a pretty cool exchange.
And it reminds me of something I believe about creating content:
Value doesn't always have to be measured in dollars.
If an episode gives you something: a new perspective, a little encouragement, a moment of inspiration, or simply a few minutes of positive company, then hopefully it has added some value to your day.
