Today’s quote come from Tony Robbins.

Tony Robbins is a motivational speaker, best selling author, life coach, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is most famous for his personal development and business seminars and for his Personal Power infomercials. He is one of the most recognizable names in personal development and has had a positive impact on millions of people worldwide.

Tony Robbins once said…

“Every problem is a gift — without problems we would not grow.”

This is one of those things where we can look back on our problems and say yeah that is true, but while in the middle of it… well it can be harder.

Nobody enjoys having problems. We all want everything to go smoothly. But if you think about it, most of your life lessons came from situations that didn’t go according to plan. A failed project can teach you a better way to work. A difficult relationship can teach you about boundaries and communications.

A career setback might push you towards an even better opportunity. And sometimes we don’t see the growth that happens until we look back on it.If everything was always easy, would we have any reason to change? It is our problems that force us to think differently, to adjust course, develop new skills, question assumptions and discover abilities we didn’t know we had.

If we never faced any challenges, we wouldn’t have discovered how resourceful, patient or resilient we can be. Growth happens when the usual approach stops working. When we have to work harder to get past an obstacle.

Think about the body builder who doesn’t push himself or herself in the gym. They don’t grow their muscles much compared to the body builder that gives 100% every time.

Instead of complaining about a problem ask yourself what can I learn from this. And then push yourself so you can overcome the obstacle. And that process of pushing past a boundary causes growth. You probably didn’t choose to have this problem but you can choose how to respond to it. And sometimes the only way out is to go through. You may be a stronger person on the other side.

Some of humanity’s greatest advances have happened as a result of big problems someone decided to solve. Disease has driven medical research. Energy challenges have inspired new cheaper and cleaner technologies. Everyday inconveniences have led to countless useful inventions.

A problem reveals where improvement is needed. And when people respond with curiosity, creativity and determination, those problems can become the catalyst for progress.

So here’s the question:

What is a problem you have faced that ultimately helped you become a stronger, wiser or more capable person? And what problem are you facing now that could make you even stronger?!

Don’t waste too much time wishing your problems would disappear. Spend that time working on fixing the problems and when you do that you just might fix yourself too.

That’s going to do it for today. I’m Andrew McGivern signing off for now, but I’ll be back… tomorrow! Same pod time, same pod station with another Daily Quote.
