More than 750 years after his death, Rumi remains one of the world's most widely read and beloved poets, inspiring people across cultures and generations.
Today's quote, often attributed to Rumi, is:
”Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”
When we're young or simply enthusiastic, it's easy to believe that the world's biggest problems can be solved if only other people would change.
If only they thought differently.
If only they acted differently.
If only circumstances were different.
But with time comes a deeper realization.
The one person we always have the power to change is ourselves.
We can become more patient.
More courageous.
More generous.
More curious.
And something remarkable happens when we do.
Our attitudes influence our relationships.
Our habits shape our future.
Our example inspires those around us.
Real change often begins from the inside out.
By becoming the kind of person we hope to see more of in the world, we create a ripple effect that reaches farther than we may ever know.
