Welcome to The Daily Quote—a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I’m your host, Andrew McGivern, for January 11st.
By this point in January, the glitter of New Year’s celebrations has faded, and if you’re like most people, those resolutions might already be gathering dust. But don’t worry—today’s a chance to reignite your motivation and refocus on what truly matters.
Yesterday was Quitters day… a day to reboot your resolutions that may not be going so well and today we have a tool that can help.
Today is National Vision Board Day! It’s the perfect opportunity to roll up your sleeves, grab some magazines, scissors and glue, or fire up your favorite online design tool, Pinterest or Notion and start visualizing your dreams. A vision board is more than just arts and crafts for grown-ups. It’s a way to translate your goals into something tangible—a constant reminder of where you want to go and who you want to become.
Whether you’re chasing fitness milestones, career breakthroughs, or your dream vacation, putting those aspirations into pictures makes them feel real and achievable. Plus, let’s be honest, cutting out pretty pictures is way more fun than another spreadsheet of goals.
Today’s quote is from Bill Hybels, an American author, speaker, pastor and co-founder of the Global Leadership Summit.
Bill Hybels once said…
“Vision is a picture of the future that produces passion.”
This is what a vision board is all about: taking the fuzzy, abstract idea of “the future” and turning it into something you can see, feel, and get excited about.
Think about this: when you look at a vision board filled with your dreams, it’s not just pretty pictures. It’s a story about the life you’re creating. And that story stirs something deep inside—your passion. That passion is what gets you out of bed early to run, keeps you working late on that business idea, and gives you the courage to take that big leap.
Without a vision, your goals can feel distant and uninspiring. But when you see your future—bold, colorful, and right in front of you—it’s almost impossible not to feel energized. It’s like giving your motivation a daily espresso shot.
And the best part? Your vision board is uniquely yours. It doesn’t matter if it’s perfectly polished or a collage of messy magazine clippings. What matters is that it sparks passion in you.
So today, on National Vision Board Day, take a little time to dream big. Create a vision board that captures your picture of the future—one that fills you with excitement and drives you toward your goals. As Bill Hybels said, “Vision is a picture of the future that produces passion,” and passion is the fuel that will keep you moving forward.
Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote. I’m Andrew McGivern, signing off for today. Stay continued for another exciting episode to kickstart your day. Keep dreaming, keep believing, and never forget—you have the power to bring your vision to life.
Hit that follow button and I’ll be back tomorrow, same pod time, same pod station for another Daily Quote.
